This training class meets the Continuing Education Requirements and offers an attending student a total of 16 Continuous Education Hours (CEH).

The purpose of this course is to provide GM Maintenance Personnel with a basic understanding of the FACS (Flexible Assembly Configuration System).  

This course is designed to utilize step-by-step  hands on procedures while covering course material in student guides.  Up to two students will share a specifically designed hardware training rack including a Programming PC, ET200 Pro PLC with a manual station simulator with a pre-stop and station stop area utilizing RF ID tag readers and ET200Eco I/O.  Each student will also configure an Eflex server to configure stations.

 Career Classification

The target audience consists of Engineers and Maintenance Electricians involved with Installing and/or Maintaining SIFACS Systems.

 Course Prerequisites

Students are required to have a working knowledge of the Windows Operating System.  Past experience with Step 7 PLC Programming is helpful.

 Course Objectives

 At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

·         Understand FACS concept for GM

·         Understand the basic hardware and software components of the FACS task based system

·         Become familiar with EFlex FACS Configuration Server Application

·         Become familiar with the "User Interface" of the SIFACS PLC Library and how these signals are applied to control and monitor the configured devices

·         Be able to troubleshoot and maintain an assembly process using the FACS system
