This training class meets the Continuing Education Requirements and offers an attending student a total of 24 Continuous Education Hours (CEH).

The purpose of this course is to provide students with a basic understanding of the Siemens Transline HMI Lite system including screen configuration procedures for the Siemens OP270 Operator Panel, Siemens OP012 Operator Panel, Step 7 programming requirements and OP270 and OP012 hardware configurations.

This course is designed to utilize step by step hands on procedures while covering course material in student guides. Two students will share a programming PC, OP270 Operator Panel training rack, OP012 Operator Panel training rack and S7 PLC training rack.  

 Career Classification

The target audience consists of Engineers and Maintenance Electricians involved with automotive powertrain projects requiring the use of Siemens Transline HMI Lite.

 Course Prerequisites

Students are required to have a working knowledge of the Windows Operating Systems and past experience with Step 7 PLC Programming.

 Course Objectives

 At the conclusion of this course, the student should be able to:

·         Determine proper HMI Lite configurations for machine types

·         Configure and download screens to OP270 using the ProToolPro screen configuration program

·         Perform Ghost procedure on OP012/PCU 50 to load required software

·         Configure and download screens to OP012 using the HMI Pro configurator program

·         Examine Ladder/S7 graph PLC program in accordance with Transline 2000 programming structure
