The New UL 61800-5-1 Standard for Drives: What You Need to Know

An old UL standard, UL 508C for low-voltage adjustable speed drives (ASD) or variable frequency drives (VFD), was obsolete and withdrawn by UL on February 1, 2020. This standard was replaced with a newer UL standard UL 61800-5-1, originally published in June 2012. The withdrawal of UL 508C has greatly impacted the industry as many drive manufacturers have not taken the initiative to update their product designs to this newer standard.

Join Siemens as they provide an expert’s perspective on what you need to know if you are a user, a panel builder, a manufacturer of motor control centers (MCC) or an OEM. The webinar also highlights strong benefits of using UL 61800-5-1 certified drives.
